Melon skewers or skewers with ham, mozzarella and cherry tomato

Brochetas o pinchos de melón con jamón, mozzarella y tomate cherry

The preparation of these summer skewers is so simple that it hardly even deserves the qualification of a recipe. Combining two classic appetizer formulas, the melon with ham and the caprese salad, we create a snack that could well be the basis of a refreshing summer dinner based on snacking, without having to light a single fire.

If you have time, it is a good idea to marinate the mozzarella in a mixture of olive oil, oregano, basil, black pepper and garlic. Otherwise, mount the skewers directly.

Cut the melon in half, scoop out the seeds with a spoon and extract small balls with a scoop, or cut cubes similar in size to tomatoes with a knife. Wash the cherry and dry well. Cut strips of ham and roll them up.

Form the skewers alternating the cheese, tomato, melon, ham and arugula, a little to taste and according to the size of the sticks. Arrange in a serving dish and garnish with oil, freshly ground pepper and the dried herbs. A spicy touch of ground chili would also do well.

The only difficulty, to say the least, is your art to removing the balls from the melon and mounting the skewers. With a ball punch, it is very easy, although we do not have perfect spheres, but we can always pull the knife and cut it into cubes so as not to complicate ourselves.

What do they pair with? We invite you to take a look at the taste of armonia and decide for yourself.

If you want to make a good impression, pair it with a cava-type white wine or an IPA beer. If you are looking for an overwhelming success, armonia is your option. Try it ;-)
